URTICÁRIA – WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?

Urticaria is characterized by the development of hives, which are reddish, swollen, and very itchy lesions of different shapes and sizes, which may also produce burning or pain sensations.

Hives last from minutes to hours, disappearing within up to 24 hours, leaving no marks or scars.

About 50% of the urticaria cases are accompanied by angioedema, which are localized, deeper, and larger-sized bumps usually found in lips, lids, feet, hands, and genitalia.
